Revelation: From Creation to Consummation - The Reign of the Lord Jesus Christ

  • Intro

Creation To Consummation – Malaysia's only dedicated Biblical Theology conference is back!

CTC is a conference designed to help busy Christians read the Bible across its entire message of salvation. Learning to read the Bible with the unity of its message found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a vital skill and duty for every Christian, and for the health of the church in Malaysia.

A Biblical Theology of Christ’s Reign from the book of Revelation

The book of Revelation is a mystery to many readers of the Bible. It can be a rather frustrating experience as readers attempt to make sense of the book’s interpretation. Do the images and prophecies in Revelation point to events that are about to happen or are they irrelevant details from some bygone era? How does Revelation teach us to understand what God is revealing in the Scriptures to His people today?

We are pleased to have Dr Brian Tabb with us this year as our teacher. He has contributed a volume in the NSBT series titled, All things New: Revelation as Canonical Capstone which considers the book of Revelation biblically theologically.

One of the key things that we must grasp is the canonical context of the book of Revelation. How do the previous prophecies and biblical theological themes of the Bible cohere in the book of Revelation? As the final book of Scripture, what is its message in light of the biblical storyline and how does it speak to the church today? Revelation itself teaches that the key to our search for answers is the person and work of Jesus Christ (Rev 1:1). Indeed, we must learn to see how Old Testament prophecies and patterns and the New Testament’s theology find their fulfillment and consummation in the present and future reign of Jesus Christ.

Dr Tabb will show us that the book of Revelation is not a fanciful book of riddles, designed for experts to decode. No, it is a book written for the church. The visions in the book of Revelation were given to shape the believers’ worldview in accordance with all that God has revealed in His holy gospel so that they will live obediently and counter-culturally as faithful witnesses in a world that is hostile to the truth. In fact, Revelation decodes us, our reality, seizes our imagination, and masters our lives with the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. We invite you to join us to hear and heed the message of Revelation and so obtain divine blessing (Rev 1:1-3).

    CTC: Behind The Scenes (BTS)

CTC BTS gives all conference participants a chance to go 'Behind The Scenes' with the teacher and interact further on how to do Biblical Theology. It complements the night talks in a workshop format so that participants can go deeper into the methodology and learn to handle the biblical material for themselves. Anyone keen on applying the content at CTC to their ministries including pastors, ministry leaders or anyone involved in teaching will greatly benefit from CTC BTS.

    Building Healthy Churches (BHC)

Saturday is the climax of CTC as Dr Brian Tabb will be bringing together all we have learnt from the book of Revelation into practical application and building healthy churches. Over a short talk and a Q&A session, participants will get the chance to learn how biblical theology is helpful to life, ministry, and church.
