Philosophy & Ethics (2025)
21-22 Nov 2025

#MilkPhilosophy2025
  • Intro

Philosophy is important to understand the way people think about the past, present and future and therefore why we should watch out for it in our friends and ourselves. Philosophy will help us read the Bible better since we may even realize why we might consider our perspective more important than others'.

Milk - Philosophy & Ethics is important for you as a Christian since what we think today is directly affected by The Enlightenment and the many philosophical shifts that have taken place. This has affected the church directly. Schleiermacher, for example, in trying to be more in line with what the world thinks, changed the gospel for the church.

  • Speaker

    Pr. Vanessa Ong

    Vanessa Ong

    • Pastor for Women, Children, Youth, and Tertiary students
    • Bachelor of Divinity (Moore Theological College)
    • Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) (Sunway University)

Vanessa loves immersing herself in God's word and asking Him questions as she studies His thoughts. She knows first-hand how good it is to learn where her mind, life, and ministry need to be urgently changed by God's perspective.

Her ministry experience began when she excitedly stumbled her way through the gospel presentation "Two Ways to Live" as a student leader in 2007 when she led her own little chapel class. She is grateful for willing brothers and sisters whom she has had a chance to "practice on" as an enthusiastic but very new Christian, and to our Lord Jesus who graciously brought her into His fold.
