Genesis, 1 Peter, Ephesians, Ruth, Esther
29-30 Nov 2024

#WordWorks2024
  • Intro

Word Works is back! Gospel Growth Fellowship invites you to join us as we read, study and learn from the Bible at 2024’s Word Works on a whopping 5 books – Genesis, 1 Peter, Ephesians, Ruth, and Esther!

Word Works is a 2-day Bible workshop, run by seminary-trained teachers, and designed to help Christians learn how to read the Bible better. We encourage you to continue making the effort to be equipped to read the Bible faithfully, in order to minister to the saints and grow God’s people (Eph 4:11-12).

The aim is to equip participants with Bible-reading skills – such as the basic framework of structure, themes, context, flow, major arguments, critical issues, and theological application – so that, with time and further study, participants may return to their churches ready to interpret and apply the Bible faithfully for the building up of all God's people.

We hope to see you there.

    Dr. Kyle Essary

    Kyle Essary

Dr. Kyle Essary grew up in the United States, although he has also lived in Yemen, China, and for quite some time—Malaysia. He is married to Jamie, and God has blessed them with four children—Andrew, Abby, Anna, and A.J—three of whom were born in Malaysia!

He serves as a lecturer in biblical studies for several seminaries in SE Asia, but primarily with Malaysia Baptist Theological Seminary. He was a church planting pastor of Covenant Baptist Church in Melaka and his family currently serves at Gospel City Church in KL, where he is an elder.

    Ms. Vanessa Ong

    Vanessa Ong

    • Pastor-in-training for Women, Children, Youth, and Tertiary students
    • Bachelor of Divinity (Moore Theological College)
    • Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) (Sunway University)

Vanessa loves immersing herself in God's word and asking Him questions as she studies His thoughts. She knows first-hand how good it is to learn where her mind, life, and ministry need to be urgently changed by God's perspective.

Her ministry experience began when she excitedly stumbled her way through the gospel presentation "Two Ways to Live" as a student leader in 2007 when she led her own little chapel class. She is grateful for willing brothers and sisters whom she has had a chance to "practice on" as an enthusiastic but very new Christian, and to our Lord Jesus who graciously brought her into His fold.
