Mr. Cheah Wei Kin
Cheah Wei Kin worked three and a half years in an international accounting firm as a senior tax consultant before pursuing full-time paid ministry. His most unforgettable memory was working until 3AM everyday during his first week, aside from the exhausting work hours during peak periods. Yet, he was also able to enjoy a few perks throughout his career, such as company trips to Taiwan and Maldives. As the first speaker lined up for CCD 2022, he is excited to reveal what work is really like and what a Christian would experience in the working world.
Ms. Penny Lai
Penny generally loves working, growing, being creative, and being passionate about delivering work that adds value. After completing her Bachelor of Medical Science, Penny spent one and a half years working as a product consultant, another one and a half years as a product executive, managing the growth and development of a product.
Here’s what one of Penny’s coworkers had to say about her: “I was top sales for a while and it was Penny Lai that taught me how to achieve it.”
In 2016, Penny then decided to get training for full-time ministry by becoming a church minister’s apprentice. Her experience at her workplace taught her a wide range of skills, but her experience as an apprentice rooted her work in the truth and wisdom of scripture. Now, as the General Manager of a church with over 400 people gathered every week, Penny has much to share with us about what it means to not waste your life.
