Creation to Consummation proud to host Old Testament Scholar, Stephen Dempster in July 2025

Adam. Abraham. Isaac. Jacob. David. Names we may have heard or read about in the bible, but what do they have to do with us? If you’ve ever wondered how the Old Testament characters, stories, laws have anything to do with Christians today, these are perfect questions to ask at Creation to Consummation (CTC).
This year, we are glad to learn from Old Testament scholar, Stephen Dempster, author of Dominion and Dynasty, which presents the Old Testament books as part of a grand narrative of 'dominion and dynasty', ranging from Adam to the Son of Man to David, and to a coming Davidic king.

Stephen G. Dempster is a professor emeritus of religious studies at Crandall University and author of numerous publications including of Dominion and Dynasty: A Biblical Theology of the Hebrew Bible, The Return of the Kingdom and the Two Horizons Commentary on Micah.
Dempster has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario, a Master of Arts in Religion in Biblical Studies and Theology and a Master of Arts Degree in Old Testament Theology from Westminster Theological Seminary. He also holds a Master of Arts in Near Eastern Studies (Classical Hebrew) and a Doctor of Philosophy in Classical Hebrew Language and Literature from the University of Toronto.
He began a 37-year career at Crandall University in August 1984, first as assistant professor, then associate, and eventually professor. He held the role of Murray chair for 10 years, bringing in scholars to the university to lecture.
He speaks about his book Dominion and Dynasty in an interview featured on The Gospel Coalition. Read more about it here.
CTC will take place on the week of 13 – 20 July 2025. Details to follow.
